STEP 6: CONSTRUCT EXTRUDE & SUBTRACT

WHAT IS EXTRUDE?

Extrusion is the process of stretching a flat, to add depth to force, press, or push (something) out. : to shape (something)

WHAT IS SUBTRACT?

In a multibody part, you can subtract one or more bodies from another body.  The operation of taking away

Step 6:

Before proceeding let’s make sure GRID SNAPPING is off.

You can toggle GRIP SNAPPING on and off from the NAVIGATION BAR on the right, if it has a line going through it snapping is off.

Step 6a:

We now want to use the SNAP TOOL that we previously used to snap the box together. This time we will be snapping the cylinder to the box.

Select the SNAP TOOL from the NAVIGATION TOOLBAR

Step 6b:

Once you click the SNAP TOOL it will prompt you to select the faces of the object to snap, select the top face from the cylinder and one from the box

Step 6c:

We will now cut some holes in the cube using EXTRUDE and SUBTRACT.

Select the CONSTRUCT option then EXTRUDE from the MAIN TOOLBAR

Step 6d:

When you click Extrude a PRECISON TAB will open make sure we have SUBTRACT selected as the option.

Select the top face of the cylinder and pull in through the cube to cut holes.

Step 6e:

Repeat the process of creating two more cylinders, snapping them, and cutting holes:
